• Do not allow flammable, water or metallic objects to enter the unit.

For your safety...

• Stop using the headphones if they are causing great discomfort or irritation on the skin and the ears. They may damage your skin and cause rash or inflammation.
• In dryer air conditions such as in winter, you may feel some static shock when using the headphones.
• Should you start to feel ill while using the headphones, you should stop using them immediately.
• Be sure that your hair or any other objects do not get caught in the headband slider (adjuster) when adjusting the headband.

Avoid using the headphones...

• In places subject to excessive humidity or dust
• In places subject to extremely high (over 40 °C or 104 °F) or low (under 5 °C or 41 °F) temperatures

DO NOT leave the headphones...

• Exposed to direct sunlight
• Near a heater

To protect the headphones, DO NOT...

• Allow them to get wet
• Shake them or drop them against hard objects

Precautions for use

Do not use the charging cable if the plug area is bent as this may cause fire, burns, or electric shocks. Do not allow the plug or the terminal of the unit to come into contact with liquids (such as sweat, beverages, and antiseptic spray) or foreign objects (such as small pieces of trash, dust, and metallic objects). Stop using immediately if the unit comes into contact with foreign objects or if there are abnormal noises, smells, or smoke emitting from the unit.

• The ear pads will wear out earlier than the other parts even in normal use or in normal storage due to the material characteristics.
• For replacement of the ear pads, consult with the dealer where you purchased the headphones.

Charging

• When using a commercially available USB conversion AC adapter, make sure to choose one with an output voltage of DC 5 V and output current of 1 A and above. Otherwise, it may result in malfunction or abnormal heating.
• Use only the supplied charging cable for charging.
• The System cannot be used while charging.

Connect the charging cable provided to start charging.

Insert the USB AC adapter into the AC outlet to start charging.

• During charging, the indicator lights up.
• The charging time is approx. 3 hours. When charging is complete, the indicator goes out.

• Charging may stop if the temperature exceeds the charging temperature range (5 °C (41 °F) to 35 °C (95 °F)). (The indicator flashes twice quickly and repeatedly). In that case, perform charging within the charging temperature range.
• Depending on the BLUETOOTH device connected, the remaining battery power of the System will be displayed but this may not be accurate. Use it as a guide.
• To prevent deterioration of the battery, charge the headphone once every 6 months when the headphone has not been used for a long period of time.

Connecting (Power On)

It is necessary to pair (device registration) the System with your BLUETOOTH device before using the System to listen to music and make a call.

Pairing (Registering a device)

Check that the indicator is turned off.
Press and hold the Power button until the indicator starts to flash quickly and repeatedly. Release your finger once you confirmed that the indicator is repeatedly flashing.

If the indicator does not flash quickly (flashing slowly, for example), refer to Power Off to turn off the power, then press and hold the Power button again.

If a pop-up display appears on your Android device, perform connection by following the instructions on the display.

In other cases, try the steps below.

Select the System on the BLUETOOTH device.

Turn on the BLUETOOTH function on the BLUETOOTH device, and then select this unit from the device list.
The indicator flashes slowly when a connection is completed.

If connection (pairing) is not completed within 5 minutes after the indicator starts flashing, the System automatically turns itself off.

Reconnect (Power On)

Check that the indicator is turned off.
Turn on the BLUETOOTH setting of the BLUETOOTH device, press and hold the Power button on the System until the indicator lights up for 1 second. Release your finger after the indicator lights up. The System then automatically attempts to reconnect the BLUETOOTH device used previously. After connection is established, the indicator starts to flash slowly.

• If the indicator flashes twice repeatedly, this means the System and BLUETOOTH device are not connected to each other. In this case, select the System on the BLUETOOTH device to connect.
• When Power button is pressed for about 5 seconds or more while the power is turned off, the indicator flashes quickly and the System enters into connection mode. In this case, select the System at the BLUETOOTH device to establish connection.

Using the Different Features (Using the App)

After the Bluetooth connection is established, you can use the earphones to listen to music, make use of features on the app specially designed for the earphones, or make hands-free calls.

Features, controls and the like may change after updating.

Listening to music

Operating the System

Launch the music player app on the BLUETOOTH device connected, to start playback.

Play/Pause (Icon_Play-Pause)

Press the Multi-function button once quickly.

Skip to the next track (Icon_FF)

Press the Multi-function button twice quickly during playback to go to the next track.

Skip to the previous track or beginning of the current track (Icon_REW)

Press the Multi-function button 3 times quickly during playback to return to the beginning of the track or the previous track.

Volume adjustment (Icon_Volume-Down/Icon_Volume-UP) Press the Minus Icon/Plus Icon button once quickly. Hold down the button to change the volume continuously.
Using voice assistant function (Siri etc) Press the Multi-function button 4 times quickly.
Switching the sound mode By pressing and holding the Multi-function button for about 1 second, the sound mode will switch alternately as follows.
You will hear an audio guidance when the sound mode is switched.
Using the Ambient Sound or Noise Canceling Function Press the NC button once to change as follows.
You will hear an audio guidance when the function is switched.

Using the ambient sound function allows you to hear your surrounding sounds.

Using the noise canceling function mainly helps to reduce ambient noises such as noise in a vehicle and noise from air conditioners in a room.

• Even when the ambient sound function is used, you may not be able to hear surrounding sounds depending on the volume of the music.
• The noise canceling function is effective for low-pitched sounds such as noise in a vehicle and noise from air conditioners in a room but less effective for relatively high-pitched sounds such as announcements, conversations and bells in vehicles.
• When the remaining battery power becomes low, you will hear an audio notification through the headphones.
• We do not guarantee all operations of the BLUETOOTH device.

Using the app

Downloading the Earphone App

By installing the dedicated app (free), you can check the status of the headphones and make changes to various settings.

Phone operation

Operating the System

• Answering the call: Press Multi-function button once quickly when receiving the call.
• Ending the call: Press Multi-function button for about 1 second during the call.
• Rejecting a call: Press Multi-function button for about 1 second when receiving the call.
• Switch the call between the System and smartphone: Press Multi-function button 3 times quickly during the call.

The System cannot guarantee operation of all of the remote control functions.

Using the multipoint function

You can pair the earphones with two devices (mobile phone, smartphone, etc.) at the same time and go into standby or switch the device for playing music (multipoint).

• Music cannot be played or a call cannot be answered on two devices simultaneously.
• We do not guarantee all operations of the BLUETOOTH device. If the BLUETOOTH device cannot be operated using the System, operate on the BLUETOOTH device.
• Depending on the Bluetooth device in use, the second device may be disconnected while the first device is in use.
• When connecting the computer and smartphone using the mutlipoint, starting a conference or call on the computer may cause the System to lose connection with the smartphone and unable to reconnect depending on the surrounding environment and BLUETOOTH device. The connection will reestablish once the conference or call is ended.

Using the multipoint function for pairing

Pair the System with first BLUETOOTH device. Refer to Connecting (Power On).
Set the Bluetooth setting of the first device to “Off”.
Turn off the System, then turn on again. After a short while, the indicator starts to flash quickly and repeatedly.
Pair the System with the second BLUETOOTH device. Refer to Connecting (Power On).
When the connection is completed, the indicator starts to flash slowly.
Set the Bluetooth setting of the first device to “On”. If it is not reconnected automatically, select this earphone unit again.
When the earphones are successfully connected to the second device, the indicator starts to flash slowly.

During multipoint connection, you can answer incoming calls from the second BLUETOOTH device even while listening to music on the first BLUETOOTH device.

If the earphones are not connected to the Bluetooth device, select this earphone unit on the Bluetooth device to establish connection.

Answering an incoming call while multipoint is in use The following are steps for operating the earphones to answer an incoming call to the second Bluetooth device while you are in a call to the first Bluetooth device.

Answering incoming call to the second Bluetooth device If the Bluetooth device is a computer, operate the computer to answer or end a call. During multipoint connection, operating the remote control of the earphones controls the operation of the Bluetooth device that is currently playing music or in a call. It does not control the operation of the other device. If you are not playing music or in a call on both Bluetooth devices, operating the remote control controls the operation of one of the Bluetooth devices but not the other. You cannot select which Bluetooth device to control in this case. If you want to do so, play back music or make a call on the Bluetooth device you want to use.

Declining incoming call to the second Bluetooth device If the Bluetooth device is a computer, operate the computer to answer or end a call. During multipoint connection, operating the remote control of the earphones controls the operation of the Bluetooth device that is currently playing music or in a call. It does not control the operation of the other device. If you are not playing music or in a call on both Bluetooth devices, operating the remote control controls the operation of one of the Bluetooth devices but not the other. You cannot select which Bluetooth device to control in this case. If you want to do so, play back music or make a call on the Bluetooth device you want to use.

Other Operations of the Multipoint Function

Switching music playback from the first to the second Bluetooth device Press Multi-function button once to pause music playback on the first Bluetooth device. Operate the second Bluetooth device to play back music.

Power Off

Hold down the Power button for about 3 seconds. The indicator lights up for 1 second before going out and the power turns off. If the indicator light went out completely, the power is turned off.

• Even when the power is turned off, the volume and sound mode settings will be maintained. When the power is turned on, the System will start up with the settings at the time of power off.
• Even when the power is turned off, the System will maintain the settings of the noise canceling or ambient sound function. When the power is turned on, the System will start up with the settings at the time of power off.
• If no BLUETOOTH device is connected for about 5 minutes, the System automatically turns itself off.

Make sure that the USB cable is plugged in all the way.

After connecting to the System, the BLUETOOTH device connected does not function immediately

The System does not work correctly

The sound is choppy and there is noise

Use the connected device in a position or orientation that allows for the most stable communication. The sound tends to be interrupted when the System is covered with the hands.

Try reducing the number of apps running on the BLUETOOTH device connected.

Charge the System. Charging

The volume is low or the sound is unpleasant

The sound is distorted

Adjust the volume on the BLUETOOTH device connected so that there is no distortion, and then adjust the volume on the System.

Re-charge unit. Charging

The noise canceling function is not very effective

Check that the noise canceling function is turned on. Operating the System

The noise canceling function is less effective depending on the type of noise.

When the Sidetone is switched to On, the noise canceling function may not be very effective (the Sidetone function takes priority during a call). The Sidetone function can be turned on/of by using the app. For more details about the app, please refer to: About the JVC Headphones App

Effect of the ambient sound function is weak

Check that the ambient sound function is turned on. Operating the System

When the playback volume of the music is loud, it may be difficult to feel the effect. Lower the playback volume.

When the Sidetone is switched to On, the ambient sound function may not be very effective (the Sidetone function takes priority during a call). The Sidetone function can be turned on/of by using the app. For more details about the app, please refer to: About the JVC Headphones App

Ring tone is soft and cannot be heard

Music or voice calls cannot be heard

Unable to connect to second Bluetooth device when multipoint is in use

Unable to connect when using the call/conference application on the computer
