The RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ is the first full-frame RF lens with integrated Power Zoom features, providing a consistent and smooth zoom with adjustable speed for your creative expression. The versatile focal length and constant f/4 aperture provide practical usage that works well in both stills and video.

The In-lens Optical Stabilizer offers up to 6 stops of image stabilisation (8 stops when paired with a compatible EOS R camera) for that handheld smooth video recording or that slow shutter still capture. The compact lightweight, dust- & drip-resistant body is great for handheld rigs and gimbals.

Aspherical Lens

Two GMo (Glass-molded) aspherical lenses work together to correct spherical aberration and distortion, enabling crisp, high-resolution image reproduction. Their effective placement contributes to both a compact, lightweight build and consistently high image quality across the entire frame.

UD Lens

Three UD (Ultra Low Dispersion) lenses are strategically positioned to reduce chromatic aberration throughout the zoom range. This minimises colour bleeding and ensures accurate, vivid image reproduction from centre to edge, even at the extremes of the zoom.

ASC

Air Sphere Coating (ASC) suppresses reflections on highly curved lens surfaces, reducing flare and ghosting even when bright light sources enter the frame. Offering greater anti-reflectivity than conventional vapour-deposition coatings, ASC maintains contrast and clarity in both stills and video.

The RF20-50mm f/4L IS USM PZ’s in-lens Optical IS (Image Stabilizer) delivers up to 6 stops of stabilisation for that steady shot in low-light conditions. When you pair the lens with a compatible EOS R camera, the Coordinated Control IS will work together with the In-Body IS to achieve up to 8 stops of image stabilisation for sharper, more stable results.

For video, pairing this with Movie Digital IS enhances the effect even further — reducing shake and smoothing motion for more controlled, fluid video recording when shooting handheld.

Fluorine Coating

The front element's fluorine coating takes care of itself. Water beads off, oil lifts away with a simple dry cloth, and no solvents are needed — keeping maintenance as effortless.
