eTag Not Working

Should you try to update latest iOS 18 version ? Apple continuous update the iOS version which fixing glitches. Did you update the latest iOS ? Although eTag should support iOS 14 or above, there are some customer feedbacks in Apple's forum that user experienced issues during pairing process and it's solved when iOS is updated to iOS 18, it's recommended to update the latest iOS 18 version when pairing with eTag.
Did you enable the "Find My" in setting ? Following below procedure; Setting -> [your name] -> Find My -> Find My iPhone.
Did you turn on Bluetooth, Wifi and Cellular Network ? You have to turn on Bluetooth, Wifi and Cellular Network in order to work with eTag. It's also recommended to reboot the iPhone after setting up.
Did you turn on Location Services ? It needs to be enabled so that eTag can work with. Following below to turn on Location Services; Setting -> Privacy -> Location Services

Did you enable Location Services access for Find My ? Following below for setting. Also choose "While Using the App" and turn on the "Precision Location" as well.

Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> Find My

Should you try to remove and reinsert the battery to power up eTag again?

You have to open the battery cover and reinsert the battery again. Then you will hear a "beep" sound and do the pairing with iOS device within 1C minutes.

• Use provided tool, push into pin hole to pop up battery cover
• Re-install the battery cover and close the battery cover

Should you try to factory reset eTag can help ?

Insert provide tool/ paper clip pin into the hole, the battery cover will bounce to open.

Reset GP eTag

1. Reinstall the battery once you hear a "beep" sound and remove the battery immediately.
2. Repeat the operation for five times and once there is a different prompt sound, it indicates that the eTag is being reset.

Did you follow the user manual for eTag connection procedure ?

Connect your GP eTag

1. Remove the insulation strip. A "beep" sound indicates that the eTag is powered on and entered pairing mode. If there is no pairing within 10 minutes. GP eTag will exit pairing mode. To re-pair, reinsert the battery.
2. Turn on Bluetooth on your Apple device and go to Settings a Privacy & Security. Turn on Location Services and allow location access for "Find My", turn on Precise Location.
3. Open the "Find My" app and select the "Items" tab.
4. Click "+" and "Add Other Item".
5. Choose GP eTag and press "Connect", follow the onscreen instructions to finish the setup.

Did you pull out the insulation tape to power up the eTag and hear a ''beep" sound ? If yes, eTag is ready for pairing iOS device within 10 minutes.

Should the pairing process is over 10 minutes after eTag power up ?

You have to open the battery cover and reinsert the battery again. Then you will hear a "beep" sound and do the pairing with iOS device within 10 minutes.

1. Use provided tool, push into pin hole to pop up battery cover
2. Re-install the battery cover and close the battery cover

Should the Two-Factor Authentication is Enabled ? For eTag to connect to your iPhone/ iPad, you must have two-factor authentication enabled. To enable it on your Apple ID, head over to Setting -> [your name] -> Password Security. Ensure "Two-Factor authentication" is ON. You need to enter your phone number and answer a few security questions.

Make sure you are not using "Managed Apple ID". 

Apple clearly states that if your iOS/ iPad OS devise is using Managed Apple ID, you cannot set up an eTag. If you want to use Managed Apple ID to work with eTag, pis consult Apple technical support/ Apple Support page.

Did you turn on Location Services ? It needs to be enabled so that eTag can work with. If it is enabled but still facing pairing issue, it's suggested to turn it OFF and reboot the iPhone, then turn location Services ON and try pairing again. Setting -> Privacy -> Location Services

eTag not Updating

There are several possible reasons cause eTag locations not updating, including Bluetooth issues, poor Wifi or cellular data connectivity, iCIoud issues, Find My app bugs, misconfigured settings and dead batteries... etc.

eTag is a Bluetooth tracker (not GPS tracker), it sends signal to nearby Apple devices, allowing it to communicate with the Find My network. Find My then sends it's location to iCIoud.

It's location update relies on surrounding iOS devices availability and network connectivity situation, it's not real time location update and may have delay reasonably.

Did you check the eTag battery level is poor or empty ? Replace a new battery if necessary. Replace a new battery if necessary.
Should the location services are turned on ?

Should the Find My iPhone is turned ON ? Go to following

"Setting" -> [your name apple ID] -> scroll down and select "Find My" -> turn on "Share My Location" -> select "Find My iPhone" and turn on it's toggle.

If above doesn't work, try to Reset Network settings can help ? Following below to do.

Go to Settings and navigate to General,

Scroll to the bottom and tap on "Transfer or Reset iPhone"

Tap on Reset and select "Reset Network Settings"

If above doesn't work, try to refresh Bluetooth and Wifi settings can help ? Open Control Center on your iPhone Long-press the Witl and Bluetooth Icons Disable both Wifi and Bluetooth Wait for a few seconds, then enable Wifi and Bluetooth again.
If above doesn't work, try to remove and re-add eTag on Find My app can help ? This can help fix glitches or errors that could be compromising eTag on the Find My app. Open the "Find My' app and tag on the "Devices" tab. Ensure you've signed in Find My using same Apple ID linked to eTag. Tap on eTag and select "Remove" to disconnect it from Find My app. Confirm the removal and setup eTag again.

If above still doesn't work, try to factory reset eTag can help ? It might resolve most of the location update issues.

2. Repeat the operation for five times and once there is a different prompt sound, it indicates that the eTag is being reset.

      2. Click “Continue” to proceed check out.

      1. Input preferred number of points at “Points to Redeem”, balance amount to pay will be auto calculated and display at “Balance to Pay”.
      2. At “Pay from”, select preferred card to pay for the balance amount.

      1. At “Pay from”, select preferred Card to pay for full amount.
      2. Click “Continue” to proceed check out
   4. EzyPay Instalment with Credit Card (Note: For minimum charge to card amount of RM500, not applicable to Charge or Debit cards) [*Not applicable for Air Miles redemption]
      1. Select preferred Card at “Pay from”,
      2. “Tick” on Apply Maybank EzyPay (Note: this option will automatically available with minimum RM500 at “Balance to Pay”
      3. Select Tenure of instalment
      4. Click “Continue” to proceed check out
6. Upon selecting “Continue”, delivery address will be auto-populated as per Maybank2U Credit/Debit card billing address. Please ensure delivery address information is in order, including contact number and email address. You may edit delivery address if require to deliver to alternative address.
7. A Transaction Authorized Code (TAC) will be sent to you via SMS to authorize the redemption transaction.
8. Key in the TAC Number and click Confirm.
9. Please allow a few seconds for the redemption transaction to be processed.
10. Upon successful redemption, logout and close the Maybank2U page.
11. The order is now completed and you may print a copy of the receipt as record of the redemption made and to track the delivery of the items redeemed.
12. You will also receive an Order Confirmation via email.
